Maryland Soldier & Virginia NCO named best in the region
After four days of physical and mental challenges, Spc. Gerald Villamar, of the Maryland National Guard, and Sgt. Jake Moyer, of the Virginia National Guard, are announced as the top Soldier and NCO of Region II at the 2018 Region II Best Warrior Competition May 20, 2018, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. Soldiers and NCOs from Maryland, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C., competed in the match which included land navigation, a ruck march, a written exam and a test of their marksmanship skills.
