Virginia hosts NGB GIS training course

The Virginia National Guard hosts geographic information system training for more than two dozen National Guard Airmen, Soldiers and civilians from more than six states and territories June 12, 2018, at Camp Pendleton State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. GIS is a mapping-based, decision tool system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of spatial or geographical data. The three-day training, which was conducted in conjunction with National Guard Bureau, consisted of two classes- an entry level class for those new to GIS and advanced training for more experienced users.
