Gov. Bob McDonnell visited the Virginia National Guard Joint Operations Center in Sandston Jan. 30 where he received a briefing from Maj. Gen. Robert B. Newman, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, and the Virginia National Guard Joint Staff. The briefing covered the Virginia Guard’s plan for supporting state and local emergency response organizations during the ongoing snowstorms.
