VNG hazardous materials experts display capabilities for Liberty students

Virginia National Guard Soldiers from multiple hazardous materials response units join members of the Virginia State Police and Lynchburg Fire Department in sharing their knowledge and experience with Liberty University students Nov. 3, 2018, in Lynchburg, Virignia, during a non-emergency, simulated bioterrorism attack environment. Soldiers assigned to the Blackstone-based 34th Civil Support Team, the Rocky Mount-based 229th Chemical Company, 1030th Transportation Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group and the Staunton-based Headquarters Company, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team described their unit’s capabilities for hazardous material identification, collection and protection in a possible chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive environment, then walked through the exercise scenario with the students.
