429th BSB conducts ACFT with former 29th ID commander

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Danville-based 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, conduct the new Army Combat Fitness Test during their drill weekend March 9, 2019, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. The 429th was joined by former 29th Infantry Division commander Maj. Gen. Blake C. Ortner, military executive and member of the Reserve Forces Policy Board, Office of the Secretary of Defense, who also took the ACFT. The 429th is one of 62 battalions from the across the U.S. Army chosen to participate in the first phase of the ACFT rollout, and one of just eight National Guard battalions taking part in the initial training phase.
