429th BSB competes for national food service award
Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Danville-based Headquarters Company, 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team prepare a meal while competing in the Philip A. Connelly Food Service Competition March 6, 2020, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. The 429th is competing for the national award after winning their regional competition in 2019. The 429th’s food service specialists were judged over the course of a single meal, with the judges scoring them on everything from field kitchen site selection and sanitation as well as food preparation.
