429th BSB Soldiers assist VDEM with forklift operations
Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the South Boston-based Alpha Company, 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team assist the Virginia Department of Emergency Management with forklift operations May 5, 2020. VNG Soldiers, Airmen and members of the Virginia Defense Force are supporting planning teams and assisting with logistics support in multiple VDEM regions. Personnel are staged and ready at key locations across the state and assisting with testing, personal protection equipment training and commodity distribution. During domestic operations, the VNG receives mission taskings from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and can't respond to direct requests for assistance.
