VNG Soldiers move historic tracked mortar carrier to new home

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the G4 Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Team offload an M84 self-propelled 4.2 mortar carrier June 25, 2021, at the VNG's Sergeant Bob Slaughter Headquarters at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The MAIT Soldiers transported the M84 from the Charlottesville Readiness Center to the headquarters building, where a team of retired volunteers called the “Friends of the Guard” will refurbish it for permanent display. Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, observed the offload and thanked the Soldiers for their hard work.
