1-116th, Marines conduct joint training on MV-22 Osprey

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Lynchburg-based 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team practice boarding and exiting procedures on the MV-22 Osprey, Aug. 2, 2021, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. Marine Helicopter Squadron One, based out of Joint Base Anacoastia-Bolling, piloted the Osprey and provided the training. The Soldiers received a pre-flight boarding and exiting procedure walk through, and a familiarization flight around the airfield. The event was a part of the battalion’s pre-deployment training, being held July 31 through Aug. 15, 2021, at Fort Pickett.
