VNG Soldiers prepare for storm response support in Fredericksburg

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Fredericksburg-based 229th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team prepare vehicles and equipment for possible response missions Sept. 1, 2021, at the Mason-Ruhren Readiness Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia. VNG Soldiers are staged in Fredericksburg and Winchester, Virginia, for possible flood response operations as Tropical Depression Ida passes through the region. VNG Soldiers are also assisting state and local emergency services organizations with flood response operations in Buchanan County, Virginia.
