New Recruits attend red phase at RSP
New Virginia Army National Guard recruits attend their first drill as part of the Recruit Sustainment Program Sept. 18, 2021, at the State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The recruits took the Occupational Physical Assessment Test, or OPAT, to measure their muscular strength, cardiorespiratory endurance, and lower and upper body strength. The four-part test included the standing long jump, seated power throw, strength deadlift and an interval aerobic run. Area recruiters assisted in administering the OPAT and supporting the recruits as they worked through it. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Lisa M. Sadler)
