Ceremony marks successful exchange between VNG, Tajik soldiers

Soldiers from the Tajikistan Ministry of Defense and the Virginia National Guard’s Fort Pickett-based 183rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute, conclude a week-long military exchange with a recognition ceremony Feb. 11, 2022, at the VNG Sergeant Bob Slaughter Headquarters at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. During their visit to the headquarters, Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, presented the Tajiks with challenge coins, and Brig. Gen. James W. Ring, the VNG Director of the Joint Staff, presented certificates of appreciation on behalf of 183rd RTI. The Tajiks also presented Ring with a decorative Tajikistan Ministry of Defense seal, while Ring presented them with a Virginia flag.
