Renovated infantry range open for business at MTC

Col. Timothy D. Pillion, the Maneuver Training Center Fort Pickett garrison commander, welcomes guests to a ceremony marking the opening of the Infantry Squad Battle Course March 10, 2022, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. The range, which began renovations in September 2021, is 133 acres and uses a variety of automated targets and battle positions for infantry squad attacks. Renovations were led by MTC Range Operations staff and the Directorate of Public Works, who were able to execute and complete renovations well ahead of schedule. Pennsylvania National Guard Soldiers assigned to 2nd Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment, currently conducting annual training at Fort Pickett, conducted a live-fire exercise as a “ribbon cutting” to mark the completion of renovations and the opening of a new capability for the installation.
