11B course Soldiers prepare for fire team exercise

National Guard Soldiers from across the country enrolled in the Infantry Transition Course taught by cadre assigned to the Virginia National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 183rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute conduct live-fire urban rifle marksmanship training and blank fire to prepare for a fire team live-fire exercise May 5, 2022, on Range 20 at Fort Pickett, Virginia. Twenty-four Soldiers at skill level 10, 20 and 30 are enrolled in the three-week course to earn the 11B infantry military occupational speciality. Range 20 recently opened as the Infantry Squad Battle Course, a 133-acre range using a variety of automated targets and battle positions for infantry squad attacks, and it is the first time RTI has used the range since it opened.
