VNG hosts lawmakers, state officials at Fort Pickett

Members of the Virginia General Assembly and representatives of the Virginia Congressional delegation and the Virginia Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs visit Maneuver Training Center Fort Pickett Aug. 9, 2022, during annual training for the Petersburg-based 276th Engineer Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group. Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, and retired Brig. Gen. Walt Mercer, the Virginia Department of Military Affairs Chief Operations Officer, hosted the visit where attendees heard presentations about the VNG, MTC and the 276th, learned about the M4 rifle and M17 pistol with Soldiers from the 276th, observed a reenlistment ceremony and visited with troops. Virginia Delegates John McGuire and Scott Wyatt, Deputy Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs Jason Pak, Assistant Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs Jordan Stewart and representatives from the offices of U.S. Sen.
