Virginia National Guard Airmen and Soldiers prepare for possible severe weather response operations Sept. 30, 2022, at the State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Airmen assigned to the Virginia Beach-based 203rd Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers (RED HORSE), 192nd Mission Support Group, 192nd Wing and Soldiers assigned to the Virginia Beach-based 1173rd Transportation Company, 529th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group are prepared to provide high mobility transport and debris reduction capabilities. The VNG has 50 Soldiers and Airmen staged and ready in the Abingdon, Roanoke, Richmond and Virginia Beach areas.
