Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, led the Blackstone Christmas Parade Dec. 10 as the Grand Marshall for the event organized by Downtown Blackstone, Inc. Col. Tom Wilkinson, Fort Pickett commander, and Command Sgt. Maj. Doc McGhee, Fort Pickett command sergeant major, joined the festivities as well in a parade float. Staff Sgt. Timothy Erdelyi from the Fort Pickett Department of Public Works drove that Adjutant General in a 1971 military Jeep.
