Brig. Gen. K. Weedon Gallagher, the Virginia National Guard Land Component Commander, and Command Sgt. Maj. Irving Reed Jr., the Virginia Army National Guard command sergeant major, visit with VNG Soldiers assigned to the Fredericksburg-based 229th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team June 10, 2023, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. During the visit, Gallagher and Reed thanked the engineers for their hard work and recognized select Soldiers for superior service.
