EIB, ESB candidates test on medical lane tasks

U.S. Army Soldiers test on medical tasks during Expert Infantryman and Expert Soldier Badge testing June 13, 2023, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. During testing, 25 Soldiers encountered 10 lanes that required them to show proficiency on a variety of medical tasks including control bleeding, provide care under fire, request a medical evacuation and restore breathing. The day marked the third day of EIB/ESB testing, which started June 11, 2023, with 121 candidates. The testing brought together Soldiers from the Virginia and Kentucky Army National Guard; the Fort Meyer-based 3rd Infantry Regiment, known as the Old Guard; the Fort Liberty, North Carolina-based 112th Signal Battalion; and Finland.
