VaANG leaders visit 203rd RED HORSE

Virginia Air National Guard senior leaders visit with Airmen assigned to the Virginia Beach-based 203rd Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers, 192nd Wing Nov. 2, 2023, at the start of the multi-day field training exercise. Col. Brock E. Lange and Chief Master Sgt. Sean J. Fretwell, the 192nd Wing command team, and Chief Master Sgt. Ian D. Stegherr, the Virginia Air National Guard State Command Chief, met with Airmen as they were preparing for the FTX, and Lange presented his challenge coin to select Airmen for outstanding duty performance. The 203rd RED HORSE provides highly-mobile civil engineering teams to support contingency and special operations worldwide. They are self-sufficient with rapid response capabilities for independent operations in remote, high-threat environments and can create or repair runways and erect permanent structures in a matter of weeks from concept and design to engineering and construction.
