Soldiers, VDF volunteers train on JISCC system

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the J6 Joint Communication Section and Virginia Defense Force personnel conduct training on the Joint Incident Site Communications Capability April 6, 2024, at the VNG Sergeant Bob Slaughter Headquarters at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The training was part of a nationwide communication exercise hosted by National Guard Bureau, and the Soldiers and VDF volunteers deployed and verified satellite connectivity required for the system to operate properly and also conducted function checks on the laptop computers included in the system. The JISCC provides an array of communications options including wireless and wired internet connectivity, radio connections for multiple frequencies, uplink to satellites, telephone service and many more communications capabilities.(U.S. National Guard photo by Mike Vrabel)
