VaARNG command team visits 116th IBCT annual training

Brig. Gen. Charles B. Martin Jr. and Command Sgt. Maj. Irving Reed Jr., the Virginia Army National Guard command team, visit Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team June 22, 2024, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia, during their annual training. The leaders met with Soldiers to learn more about their training, thanked them for their service and Martin presented his challenge coin to select Soldiers to recognize outstanding duty performance. During the visit, they observed Soldiers assigned to the 1st Battalion, 111th Field Artillery Regiment conduct live fire with 105mm howitzers, Solders assigned to 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment conduct mounted machine gun live fire and Soldiers assigned to 229th Brigade Engineer Battalion conduct a Claymore mine range.
