Fort Barfoot MATES receives M1 Abrams tank delivery
Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Fort Barfoot Maneuver Area Training Equipment Site and workers from General Dynamics offload M1 Abrams tanks from rail cars July 9, 2024, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. The tanks, which belong to the North Carolina National Guard’s 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team, will be housed and maintained at MATES, and will eventually be used for the 30th’s training exercises at Fort Barfoot.
