Marines live fire mine clearing line charge at Fort Barfoot

U.S. Marine Corps reservists assigned to the Lynchburg-based Charlie Company, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division, alongside active duty Marines from the Camp Lejeune-based 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, train on and fire the M58A4 Mine Clearing Line Charge, or MICLIC, July 14, 2024, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. The MICLIC is a rocket-propelled explosive line charge used to clear minefields and create a breach in static obstacles. This is the first time since the 1980s a MICLIC has been fired on post.
