Finnish delegation visits, tours 192nd Wing - Oct. 25, 2024
Lt. Gen. Vesa Virtanen, Chief of Defence Command Finland, and a small delegation of Finnish military representatives meet with Maj. Gen. James W. Ring, the Adjutant General of Virginia, and other senior leaders of the Virginia National Guard and 192nd Wing during a visit Oct. 25, 2024, to the 192nd Wing at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia. Virtanen received a tour of the Virginia Air National Guard's 192nd Wing to include a static F-22 Raptor, Multi Capable Airman innovations and the 185th Cyberspace Operations Squadron. Earlier this year, the VNG and Finland officially became partners under the National Guard Bureau State Partnership Program. Through the SPP, U.S. National Guard units and partner-nation forces engage in a wide array of activities ranging from joint training exercises and personnel exchanges to disaster response and humanitarian aid initiatives.
