Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Virginia Beach-based 529th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group reunite with family, friends and VNG senior leaders Nov. 27, 2024, in Virginia after serving on federal active duty in Poland since March 2024. Soldiers returned to the United States Nov. 19, conducted medical evaluation and administrative tasks at Fort Cavazos, Texas, to transition from federal active duty to traditional National Guard status and returned to airports closest to their home of record. The 529th was responsible for logistics, maintenance and supply missions based at Forward Operating Site Karliki, Poland until their transfer of authority conducted Nov. 6.
