VNG leaders break ground on new Fort Barfoot Visitor Control Center

Virginia National Guard senior leaders and guests officially break ground on a new Visitor Control Center Dec. 13, 2024, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. Brig. Gen. Todd Hubbard, the VNG Director of the Joint Staff and Col. James C. Shaver Jr., Fort Barfoot’s garrison commander, led the groundbreaking ceremony and were joined by retired Lt. Col. Tom Barfoot, installation namesake Col. Van T. Barfoot’s oldest son, and Roger Nicholls, husband to Margaret Nicholls, the installation namesake’s daughter.
