Georgia aviators transport SMET for Saber Soldiers during XCTC

Aviation crews assigned to the Georgia National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 169th Aviation Regiment use a CH-47 Chinook helicopter to transport a Small Multipurpose Equipment Transport for Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to Portsmouth-based 2nd Squadron, 183rd Cavalry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. After flying the SMET to a landing zone in the training area, Saber Soldiers used a tow bar to move it to their assembly area where they were preparing for future operations. The 116th is the first Army National Guard brigade to test the approved task organization for a mobile brigade combat team, and it will be evaluated during a 21-day eXportable Combat Training Capability rotation.
