Portsmouth-based Virginia Guard Soldiers return home from Iraq deployment
Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, was on hand to welcome home approximately 90 Soldiers from the Virginia National Guard's Headquarters Troop, 2nd Squadron, 183rd Cavalry Dec. 19, 2011 in Portsmouth. The Soldiers returned to friends and family members in Portsmouth Dec. 19, 2011 after serving in Iraq since August 2011. The Soldiers are part of a group of about 825 Soldiers from across the commonwealth who mobilized June 1 for duty in Iraq as Task Force 183. (Photo by Sgt. 1st Class A.J.
