Support battalion Soldiers conduct Combat Lifesaver training

Soldiers from the Virginia National Guard's Danville-based 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Brigade Combat Team demonstrate the proper procedures for treating a casualty in a combat environment as part of their final evaluation in the Combat Lifesaver Course June 16 at Fort Pickett as part of the unit's annual training period. The training task in the final evaluation was to tactically manage and treat a casualty, request medical evacuation and transport a casualty. About 35 Soldiers completed the course taught by Charlottesville-based Company C, the battalion's medical company. The Soldiers also were able to train on evacuating a casualty to a Lakota helicopter from the Sandston-based Detachment 1, Company A, 2nd Battalion, 151st Aviation Regiment.
