Senior leaders and government officials tour Cannon Creek project

Senior leaders from the Virginia National Guard and officials from the City of Richmond tour the Cannon Creek Greenway project July 18 in Richmond. Col. Walt Mercer, commander of 91st Troop Command, the Honorable Ellen F. Robertson, Councilwoman for Richmond City Council's Gateway 6th District and Dr. Charles Price of the Virginia Chapter of the Sierra Club were among the leaders in attendance who toured the site, visited with Soldiers and talked with local news media. The work is part of the Phase II of the Cannon Creek Greenway that will bring the road to final grade in order to prepare the road for paving immediately following the engineers construction. The work being performed is valued at $350,000 and is being provided at no charge as part of the Guard Innovative Readiness Training Program. (Photo by Staff Sgt. Terra C.
