Infantry Soldiers demonstrate indirect fire capabilities at Fort Pickett

Soldiers from the Lynchburg-based 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team demonstrate their indirect fire capabilities with the 60mm, 81mm and 120mm mortar July 25 at Fort Pickett. Del. Ben Cline visited with Soldiers from the battalion's Lexington-based Company B as they prepared for training, then received an orientation to the battalion's indirect fire capabilities and was able to launch a few mortar rounds himself. Soldiers from 1st Battalion are conducting their two-week annual training at Fort Picket. Cline represents the 24th Legislative District in the Virginia House of Delegates and serves on the House Finance Committee, the Commerce and Labor Committee, the Courts of Justice Committee, and the Committee on Militia, Police and Public Safety.
