Governor McDonnell visits Va. Guard and VDF personnel work at VEOC

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell visits with Virginia National Guard and Virginia Defense Force personnel working in the Virginia Emergency Operations Center Oct. 28. The Va. Guard and VDF personnel working in Emergency Support Function 16 of VEOC provide information coordination between the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the Virginia National Guard. While on state active duty, the Virginia National Guard receives its mission taskings from VDEM to support state and local emergency response organizations.
