Infantry Soldiers conduct final preparations for inauguration mission

Soldiers from the Leesburg-based Company C, 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team conduct final preparations Jan. 20, 2013, for their support mission for the 57th Presidential Inauguration. Approximately 90 Soldiers from Company C are scheduled to assist Arlington County Police with security operations in the Northern Virginia area on Inauguration Day. As part of their preparations, Soldiers received a briefing on the rules for the use of force, members of the JFHQ-VA communications section issued equipment to members of the Virginia Defense Force and Soldiers from the Winchester-based Company F, 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team arrived to provide transportation support for the mission. Virginia Secretary of Public Safety Marla Graff Decker and Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, visited the unit to receive an updated mission brief and express their appreciation for the service of the Soldiers and VDF members.
