Virginia Guard kicks off 2010 Combined Federal Campaign
The Virginia National Guard kicked off the 2010 Combined Federal Campaign Oct. 14 with a reception at Army Guard headquarters in building 316. Sixteen non-profit organizations from around Virginia attended the event to provide information on their services they offer.
"Thanks to all the organizations the participated here at Fort Pickett for the kick-off event. The Combined Federal Campaign's purpose is to give back to organizations that provide additional resources to those that really need it,” said Virginia National Guard Army Chief of Staff, Col. Robert McMillin. “Without your donations some of these organizations may not survive. My hope is that the Virginia National Guard will be able to meet or exceed this year's goal."
Donations will be collected up to Dec. 1 and the goal is to raise $54,920, said 2nd Lt. Timothy Braxton, the 2010 Virginia National Guard CFC coordinator.
