Commonwealth ChalleNGe hosts Md., N.C., ChalleNGe programs for 3-day invitational - Dec. 7, 2012

The Virginia National Guard Commonwealth ChalleNGe Youth Academy hosts cadets from the Freestate ChalleNGe Academy (Maryland) and the Tar Heel ChalleNGe Academy (North Carolina) for a three-day invitational event Dec. 7-9, 2012 in Virginia Beach. The cadets competed in events such as drill and ceremony, basketball, chess, softball and “GED Jeopardy.” Offered free to at-risk teens ages 16 to 18 in Virginia, Commonwealth ChalleNGe is a statewide co-educational program with two components: a 22-week quasi-military residential phase followed by a 12-month post-residential phase.
