Soldiers from the Virginia National Guard’s Gate-City based 1032nd Transportation Company, 1030th Transportation Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group receive the Department of the Army Philip A. Connelly Award For Excellence In Army Food Service in the Army National Guard Field Kitchen Category July 24, 2013, in Sandston. Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, presented the award to representatives of the company and its food service section. The Department of the Army announced the national Connelly winners May 13, 2013.
