Senator Stosch visits Virginia National Guard operations center - Dec. 10, 2014

Virginia Senate Finance Co-Chairman Walter A. Stosch, R-Henrico, and Deputy Staff Director for Virginia Senate Finance Committee Dick Hickman visit the Virginia National Guard joint operations center Dec. 10, 2014, in Sandston. Va. Brig. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, and Col. James A. Zollar, Virginia National Guard director of joint operations, briefed Stosch and Hickman on the capabilities of the Virginia National Guard and explained how the Guard effectively balances its dual missions of fighting our nation’s wars side-by-side with their active duty Army and Air Force counterparts and defending the homeland by working with state partner agencies to respond to natural and man-made disasters. The leaders also discussed how the Virginia Guard is prioritizing training in order to maintain readiness in the face of a constrained resource environment.
