Va. Guard OCS Class 57 conducts staff ride - July 11, 2015
Officer Candidates from the Virginia National Guard’s Fort Pickett-based Officer Candidate School conduct a staff ride July 11, 2015, at the Fredericksburg Battlefield. The officer candidates received a brief tour of the site and watched a video about the battles before taking turns giving their fellow candidates and OCS cadre members briefings on the various aspects of the battle at different locations within the National Park Service unit of the Fredericksburg Battlefield. Staff rides are educational tools used to enhance the professional development of leaders and can be traced to the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
