Governor, senior staff visit 29th ID

Governor Terry McAuliffe and members of his senior staff visit the headquarters of the Virginia National Guard’s 29th Infantry Division Aug. 24, 2015, at Fort Belvoir, Va. Brig. Gen. Blake C. Ortner, commander of the 29th ID, briefed the visitors on the history of the division as well as their current capabilities for both state and federal missions. Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security Brian Moran, Secretary of Veterans Affairs John C. Harvey, Jr., Virginia State Police Superintendent Colonel W. Steven Flaherty and Virginia Department of Emergency Management State Coordinator Dr. Jeffrey D. Stern joined Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, for the visit.
