Camp Pendleton hosts 3-day GIS training for Va. Guard Soldiers, civilians - Sept. 15, 2015
Nearly a dozen Virginia National Guard Soldiers and civilians participate in a three-day Geospatial Information System training course Sept. 15, 2015, at Camp Pendleton, Va. GIS is a mapping-based, decision tool system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of spatial or geographical data. GIS can be used by the Virginia Guard for a variety of purposes, including emergency operations, range and training safety, and environmental compliance.
