Aviators support 183rd RTI rappel master course during AT - May 20, 2016

Soldiers assigned to the Virignia National Guard's Sandston-based 2nd Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment, 91st Troop Command provide aviation support for the Aircraft Command and Control Evaluation portion of U.S. Army Rappel Master Course taught by instructors from the Fort Pickett-based 1st Battalion, 183rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute May 20, 2016, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. The support mission was one of many different activities conducted by 2nd Battalion during their two-week annual training period. The five-day course certifies Soldiers as rappel masters and qualifies them to conduct both ground and aircraft rappelling operations, train personnel to rappel and also inspect the rigging used before rappel operations begin. A total of 33 Soldiers started the course, and 17 earned the certification.
