Cavalry Soldiers receive aviation orientation

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Portsmouth-based 2nd Squadron, 183rd Cavalry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team receive a basic orientation on flight operations Nov. 4,2016, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. Aviation crews assigned to the Sandston-based 2nd Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment conducted safety briefs and training on loading and unloading procedures before taking the cavalry Soldiers on a flight. The orientation provides a foundation for tactical training planned for 2017.
