429th BSB makes most of sling load training opportunity

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Danville-based 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team sling load a Humvee during an exercise May 3, 2019, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. Teaming with aviators from the Sandston-based 2nd Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment, the team worked together to stabilize and rig the vehicle before securing it to a hovering UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. The Soldiers were able to complete the sling load and hoisting over multiple iterations during day and night operations, giving everyone on the team valuable experience.
