91st Cyber Brigade activated as Army Guard's first cyber brigade - Sept. 17, 2017
The command team for the Virginia National Guard's newly-activated Bowling Green-based 91st Cyber Brigade uncase their unit colors Sept. 17, 2017, at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, then present new shoulder sleeve insignia to Soldiers assigned to the Army National Guard's first cyber brigade. Prior to uncasing the colors, former commanders helped the current command team case the 91st Troop Command colors to symbolize the inactivation of the unit. The new cyber brigade provides training and readiness oversight for cyber units across 30 states.
Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and members of his cabinet joined Lt. Gen. Timothy Kadavy, Director of the Army National Guard, Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, as well as numerous other senior military and civilian leaders, fellow Soldiers and family members for the ceremony.
The Troutville-based 29th Division Band provide ceremonial music for the event.
