Sappers prepare for squad live-fire exercise

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Fredericksburg-based 229th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team prepare for a squad live-fire exercise Nov. 2, 2018, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. The Soldiers conducted a blank-fire run of the lane in both daylight and limited visibility conditions and trained on multiple tasks including squad movement techniques, establishing a support by fire position and calling for medical evacuation.
