Air Assault School kicks off at Fort Pickett with “Zero Day” - Aug. 13, 2019

More than 235 Soldiers run, climb, crawl and maneuver across the Air Assault Obstacle Course Aug. 13, 2019, at Fort Pickett, Virginia, as part of “Zero Day,” the first challenge in the U.S. Army's Air Assault School. The course, taught by cadre from the Fort Benning-based Warrior Training Center, qualifies Soldiers to conduct air assault helicopter operations, including aircraft orientation and slingload operations. While 238 started they day with a two-mile run, only 173 successfully completed the run and the obstacle course.
