Flora promoted to major general - May 2, 2020

Lapthe C. Flora is promoted to major general May 2, 2020, at the Virginia National Guard Sgt. Bob Slaughter Headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. Flora most recently served as the VNG Assistant Adjutant General - Army, and his next assignment is pending an official announcement by the Department of Defense. Brig. Gen. K. Flora, a native of Saigon, was the first Vietnamese boat person to be promoted to general officer in the United State Army and the second of Vietnamese descent when he was promoted to brigadier general in June 2016.
