29th ID commander visits VNG Soldiers conducting food bank operations - June 4, 2020

Maj. Gen. John Epperly, commander of the Fort Belvoir-based 29th Infantry Division, visits with and thanks Virginia National Guard Soldiers from the Fredericksburg-based 229th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team as they conduct COVID-19 response operations June 4, 2020, at the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank in Fredericksburg, Virginia. 229th BEB Soldiers have been working at the food bank for several weeks, helping with warehouse operations and food distribution. VNG Soldiers have helped distribute more than 230,000 pounds of food since COVID-19 response operations began. Localities looking for VNG support should contact VDEM and make a request.
