Brickell sworn in as new VDF chief of staff - Aug. 3, 2024

COL (Va.) Rodney Brickell is sworn in to the Virginia Defense Force Aug. 3, 2024, in Richmond, Virginia, and will serve as the VDF chief of staff. Brig. Gen. (Va.) Rich Diddams, commander of the VDF, administered the oath of office. Brickell served in the Virginia Air National Guard for more than 37 years culminating with duty as the J2 joint intelligence officer on the Virginia National Guard Joint Staff. Brig. Gen. Todd Hubbard, the VNG director of the joint staff, and Brig. Gen. Catherine Jumper, commander of the VaANG, attended the swearing in and congratulated Brickell for continuing his uniformed service in the VDF.
